Is Sexual Abuse a Catholic Problem Only?

No, it’s not. It happens far too often in all parts of society worldwide. It is not an American Catholic nor even a Catholic problem. It is a societal problem the world over. It is a problem in Protestant churches, youth sports leagues, and even our schools.

For too many years, psychologists assured the Church that offending priests could be rehabilitated. The Church took the advice and the abuse continued. That is just one of several issues with the Catholic Church in this issue, but it is not a “Catholic only” problem.

Read this, which has much more information. Suffice to say, more attention needs to be paid to abuse in other places, not just the Catholic Church.
